I returned from Nice at the end of last week and can't think of many other places to have such an enjoyable Xmas...the whole area is wonderful and even my poor (recently learned)French was tolerated! It was such a beautiful place that I'm considering spending my holidays there next year, perhaps this time I might find some accommodation in the glorious countryside.

I would like to make a formal complaint. I was in Nice with friends last weekend and had a terrible experience at "The Grand Blue" restaurant in Old Town. They lied to us and said the dish was for two at $43 and then when the bill came they charged $43 per person. They were rude and not just to us but to everyone. The police were called twice because of problems with the quality of their food and the way they treated the customers. Please post this warning and spread the news. I hate to think of how many poor, innocent vicitms they have taken advantage of and ruined a wonder time in your beautiful city.

I think you shall look up the internet and book the hotels in advance or go through a UK travel agent.
I heard it's cheaper to book in advance than stepping into a hotel and book new. I look up the net and found very good hotels with Euro 30-40/night, and you shall try.

Hey all, i've got a question for you.
Me and a couple of friends have organised a trip to Nice in mid july, the plane tickets is only 80 pound return which is good in my opinion.
But what im worried about, is ive heard its VERY expensive there, like 3 pound for half a pint of beer, hotels 100 pound a night, we REALLY need a cheap place to stay so im very worried indeed. Can anyone shed any light on what we should do?

I just happening to surf the website and found your site was very awsome pictures. (above the city of Nice) I kept several in my documents. I always tried to take a picture above city of Nice when the plane is landing on and/or running way. I failed because I sit the other side window over the sea.
Wrong time. That is my five time trip to Nice. I always want to live there. But I have more relatives in USA than in France. Its sad. Only a few left in Nice. My mother told me, "she used to hear people speak, Nicoise language". Now, its fade the Nicoise language spoken. Only my tante still speaks Nicoise. I just want to let you to know how beautiful city of Nice and delicious Nicoise foods. You will not resident the foods of Nice. Its watermouth. Everytime, when I come and visit Nice. IT is really nice that Nice is so nice and have people who are nice in Nice. I really enjoy going to Nice and sitting in the ocean and playing with sand. I love to put it all over my body. I also love when my body is covered by seaweed. When i am covered, I love to lay in the dirty sand and let the birds come pick at the seaweed on me. I seem to be a french chick magnet. Everywhere I go, these women just seem to flock to me and want my company. I dont know what to tell them because there are so many. So i just take them all home with me in my beautiful cottage in Ardeche France

Its so great to see Nice the way you presented it. In a way its hard to look at because it makes me want to be there very badly. There is always something to do, unlike the no-fun, dreary city of Vancouver.
Nice is really alive and so close to Monte Carlo and Cannes also, there are many more great beaches and villages along the way too. The weather is great, and I've always found it to be a safe city, you can leave the dance clubs early in the morning and venture to your hotel and its fine.
I always make sure I go to Nice whenever I am in Europe, and its not that expensive either. A great place to start on the way to Paris.
I'm even planning on buying an apartment there, I enjoy it so much.

If traveling to Nice, Please seriously consider visiting this wonderful, hidden treasure in the French Alpes. If taking the train station, get off on the stop for the chocolate factory. It is a family owned business and the older couple who runs it are so delightful! They served us a 6 course meal which was wonderful for a very reasonable price! Its called Villars-sur-Var. Wow! This has got to be one of the best sites Ive seen yet. Most people I know havent even heard of Nice. Your pictures are awesome! I just returned from France a few weeks ago... If anyone is plannin gon traveling near Nice, be sure to visit Antibes, Mougins, aND St. Paul (the village) Also check out the chocolate factory and Entrevaux if you take the train ride through the french alpes!

The pictures you have on here have bought back so many good memories, what it was like to be 18 and stationed aboard the Springfield, It really was one of the best time's of my life. Port hopping in the Med. with good buddies and no worries. I was in the radar gang and remember Sam, Jerry, Miller, and almost all of the others, M.C. Flowers and Collins, what a great bunch of sailors since radar was right under the Marines compartment I do remember seeing them lifting weights as I was going on watch and do remember some by name the one that sticks out in my mind is Moose. Thanks for the site and some wonderful flash backs.

Stumbled onto your site searching for information on the Rhone valley. I am constructing a written 'caravan' trip following the tin route from England across France and down the Rhone.
I can find many pictures of individual cities, but seldom do I come across such excellent pictures of the scenery outside of cities. Without these, it is almost impossible to write about an area I have never seen.
If you sould have any pictures of the rhone valley, or the passes over the Alps taken by Hannibal, I would like to see them. I don't know what your policy is concerning using a few of your pictures, but assume they are private. Since my site is a hobby, and free of advertisement, I can not afford professional pictures. However, I could link to your site in the credit page.
When you have some time, check my site and see if you would like to be involved.
